Little Big Groove Records is proud to officially announce that Rick Silva has been appointed as Director General of Substance Underground, the parent organization behind a growing network of forward-thinking electronic music labels.
This decision comes as a natural evolution, recognizing Silva’s long-standing commitment, leadership, and consistent results across the ecosystem — particularly through the development and international positioning of Little Big Groove Records and Jacking Records.
Under his direction, both labels have demonstrated a clear identity rooted in underground values, musical integrity, and a strong connection to the dancefloor. His approach — guided by the philosophy of Groove Over Ego and Feeling Over Hype — has helped shape a platform where both established and emerging artists can thrive.
As part of this transition, J L Demesis, who previously served as Director General of Substance Underground, will continue as a key figure within the organization, now leading A&R operations across Europe. His ongoing contribution remains essential to the continued growth and artistic direction of the ecosystem.
Regarding representation in the Americas, Substance Underground will soon appoint an official contact to further strengthen its regional presence. The current shortlist includes & Strike (From Colombia), Austin Land (From USA), and Luis Ballesteros Almudena (From Argentina).
As Director General, Rick Silva will oversee the strategic direction of Substance Underground, focusing on strengthening the label ecosystem, expanding its global reach, and continuing to push a vision centered on quality, authenticity, and long-term artist development.
This new chapter marks an important step forward for Substance Underground, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and its role as a key force within the underground electronic music scene.
